En 1950 los gobiernos de Chile y Bolivia publicaron dos notas diplomáticas en la cual anunciaban sus intenciones de iniciar conversaciones sobre las aspiraciones marítimas de Bolivia. Aunque esta iniciativa nunca se concretó debido a la oposición interna y externa, se convirtió en un hito en las relaciones chileno- bolivianas. Para explicar este acercamiento, en esta investigación haremos uso de documentación inédita del Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores, que revelan como elemento central el cambio en la estrategia internacional de González Videla, que vio en el acercamiento diplomático e ideológico con Bolivia una necesidad para el mantenimiento de la seguridad de Chile y su sistema democrático, en peligro por lo que concebía como amenazas totalitariasDownloads
