El predicador callejero es un personaje de memoria del pentecostalismo, que trae al presente los recuerdos de un pasado intolerante y excluyente. Es un símbolo de la identidad asignada por la sociedad chilena, es decir el "ser canutos". Comenzó como una metodología predicatoria callejera, paulatinamente se van transformando en el "instituto bíblico del predicador de púlpito" en una especie de "universidad de la vida", en rito de iniciación de todo predicador pentecostal. Si alguien quería dar a conocer su talento carismático, debía comenzar "donde las papas queman", es decir, predicando en la calle. Por lo cual el ser canuto ya no sólo fue parte de la identidad asignada, sino también de la identidad resignificada. Hoy el predicador callejero es un icono del patrimonio cultural del pentecostalismo -aunque aún no visualizado por los "especialistas patrimoniales- por ser parte de la identidad, la memoria y la tradición del "otro Chile".Downloads
