Durante el período de decadencia del salitre, el sindicalismo se transformó en la forma política de los pampinos. El escenario de entonces era cualitativamente diferente al de antaño. Existían las leyes sociales. Los sindicatos, ante esta nueva realidad, transformaron su discurso, pero más aún, transformaron su forma de concebir la política. El Estado se convirtió en la base de su demanda. Lo que trata de hacer este artículo es caracterizar el discurso de ese sindicalismo, y reflexionar desde ahí sobre el sentido que adquirió la acción política para los sindicatos salitreros.Downloads
